The reconstruction of the historic log building took place in the territory of O. Kalpaka Museum “Airītes”, adapting it for museum functions and public use. The project's aim was to preserve the cultural and historical environment while creating a space suitable for modern requirements and functional for exhibitions and thematic events.
During the reconstruction, damaged structures were dismantled, and the preserved historical elements were restored, including the boulder plinth, wooden columns, and decorative metal cladding. New building elements were created in accordance with historical construction technologies and architectural character. The building features a traditional wooden shingle roof, wooden windows, and doors, maintaining an authentic visual appearance.
The building's layout is organized for museum exhibition halls, event space, and necessary ancillary rooms, ensuring accessibility for all visitors. New engineering communications, mechanical ventilation, and an energy-efficient heating system with a heat pump were also constructed.
The project paid special attention to the landscaping of the area, the organization of pedestrian and vehicular traffic, as well as safety and environmental accessibility. The restored building integrates organically into the museum environment while preserving the site's historical identity and creating a quality cultural space for visitors.
