The project for the reconstruction of the Ikšķile open-air stage creates a modern, functional cultural space by constructing a new stage roof and beautifying the area, while preserving the unique feeling of nature and history of the place, especially the valuable dolomite stone walls.
The main highlight is an expressive laminated wooden roof inspired by the motifs of boats on the Daugava River, covered with green materials, blending into the landscape. The rebuilt stage, new backstage spaces, and improved accessibility ensure modern functionality for artists and visitors.
The landscaped area with new wooden walkways, relaxation, and play zones activates the slope of the Daugava ancient valley while respecting the existing trees and terrain.
As a result, an attractive and publicly accessible cultural and recreational place is created, combining the history of Ikšķile with modern opportunities for community life.
